The Happy Prince and the Swallow

'The Happy Prince and the Swallow' is a work by the Irish philosopher, aesthete, writer, and poet Oscar Wilde (1854–1900). The tale was written in 1888. Wilde's tales create an original, enchanting world born from the author's imagination. There are no traditional folklore wonders in it; magic here resides in words, and objects are imbued with enchantment. In this illusory reality, everything comes to life, transforming the ordinary into the fabulous.
