The play 'Romeo and Juliet' became a symbol of love for which there are no barriers. Shakespeare's legendary work continues to win the hearts of new generations of readers, being the most famous, touching and tragic work about love. The plot of the play originally arose in the novel of the Italian Renaissance, and Shakespeare recognized it in the treatment of the English poet Arthur Brooke in the poem 'Romeus and Juliet' (1562). The main characters of the tragedy are twenty-year-old Romeo and Juliet, who is not even fourteen years old. The action of the play spans five days and takes place at the beginning of the 14th century in the city of Verona.
