'The Lost Letter' is a story by Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol from the cycle 'Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka'. It was presumably written in 1829-1831. This is a story about how one day Foma Grigorievich's grandfather went to the queen with a charter from the hetman. But on his along the way, all sorts of devilry happens every now and then... The work captivates with the author's unique style of narration and description of the fabulous events that took place on a farm near Dikanka.
